NividiSkin

The island of Ouessant in Brittany, where it all began

Watched over by the Nividic lighthouse, the island of Ouessant, in the far west of the Iroise Sea, possesses a unique treasure: its seaweed. Numerous species thrive in its location between the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean. The quality of the waters, due to the absence of any industrial or agricultural activity, has allowed the seaweed harvested in Ouessant to be certified organic.

NividiSkin, boots in the algae

The story of NividiSkin begins with Guy Potier , a veterinarian and entrepreneur with a passion for plant chemistry. After a career in the pharmaceutical industry, he specialized in the extraction of natural active ingredients, particularly from marine algae. In 2005, he came to Ouessant for the first time to develop a process for producing depolymerized fucans for patented applications in wound healing.

Then, thanks to the discovery of other dermatological properties of these natural molecules, Guy Potier developed Eusaphylane, which later became Essenc'Age®, a unique active ingredient with soothing and regenerating properties, capable of stimulating the regeneration of fibroblasts, skin cells which secrete all the skin fibers: collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid.

Fifteen years ago, Guy decided to create his own product: a minimalist, natural and multifunctional treatment, far from the complex and overloaded routines on the market.

In 2011, BAUME TEMPETE was launched, a treatment designed to meet all skin needs in a single step. First marketed on the island, then in Breton pharmacies, it was an immediate success .

In 2013, Guy Potier decided to refocus his business and entrust the extraction of active ingredients to another company, Solabia, to fully concentrate on the development of NividiSkin. He then joined forces with Catherine Gaillarde , who has international experience in law and management, and who brings a new dynamic to the brand. Together, they are developing NividiSkin while remaining true to their values: simplicity and respect for the environment.

Today, NividiSkin continues to grow, drawing on its scientific commitment and its deep connection with Ouessant, while offering an authentic and sustainable cosmetic approach.

NividiSkin is committed to preserving ecosystems

Since prehistoric times, the island of Ouessant has been inhabited by humans, who continue to shape this unique biotope. It is now protected by four conservation areas: the "Iroise Marine Park", "Natura 2000", "Man and Biosphere", and the "Armorique Regional Park".

NividiSkin has always been committed to a genuine approach to sustainable and local development in Brittany. This commitment is threefold:

  • Environmental : in order to sustainably manage the algae resource and limit the environmental impact of its activities on the Island and elsewhere.
  • Societal : by contributing to the development of economic activities perennial islanders: cultivation, harvesting, extraction, packaging, shipping and sale.
  • Cosmetics : in the choice of simple and recyclable packaging (avoiding over-packaging) and in the selection of natural ingredients which, even numerous in the formulas, all have a use to make the textures effective and pleasant.

We are proud to be a 100% Ouessant, Finistère and Brittany certified company.
